Job Description: Seasonal position at YMCA Lakeside providing breakfast, lunch and dinner for staff and residents who attend the site. Looking for an April start date with full time employment guaranteed until the end of October with possibility of extending for the right individual. Live in available and can be discussed at interview stage.

Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops and food preparation areas.
• Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping and slicing ingredients.
• Assist in receiving, storing and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring equipment is in good working order and that health and safety standards are met.
• Assist with breakfast shifts on occasion.

Qualifications:

• No formal education required.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
