Job Overview

Ground Operator / Caretaker – Ground Operator Contract, Permanent, full‑time.

Location: Tyldesley, M29 8DH.

Working pattern: Monday through Friday.

Hourly rate: £13.95.

Responsibilities

Maintain the site, buildings, and grounds to a high standard of cleanliness, safety and professional appearance.
Carry out regular inspections of the premises and report maintenance or repair requirements.
Complete basic repairs and maintenance tasks within remit and in line with the ISS Site Manual.
Monitor heating, lighting and security systems, reporting any faults or defects promptly.
Maintain cleanliness across the site, including grounds, car parks, washrooms and bin areas.
Carry out porterage duties, waste removal, emergency cleaning and deep cleaning as required.
Open and close the building, ensuring the site is secure and alarm systems are operated correctly.
Conduct daily perimeter and security checks, reporting hazards, unsafe practices and near‑hits in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

Good understanding of site maintenance, cleaning and basic repair duties.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
Ability to communicate with all site users in a polite and professional manner.

Previous caretaker, grounds maintenance, cleaning or facilities experience beneficial.
