TeacherActive is working closely with a specialist SEND school in Trowbridge that supports children and young people aged 4–19 with a range of complex additional needs, including SLD, PMLD, Autism (ASC), communication difficulties, and physical or sensory needs. The school provides a calm, inclusive and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, communication skills, independence and everyday life skills. Staff work collaboratively to create engaging and personalised learning experiences that help every pupil reach their potential.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs
- Supporting communication, sensory activities and classroom engagement
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
- Assisting with personal care and moving & handling when required
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver tailored support strategies
The Ideal Candidate:
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
- Previous experience in SEND, care, support work or education is beneficial but not essential
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Adaptable, proactive and willing to learn
