Our client, one of the UK's leading automotive tyre and fast‑fit centre groups, is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join their busy Trowbridge centre. Duties of the MOT Tester:

  • Conduct MOT tests in accordance with Government standards, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance
  • Support customers through the MOT process by providing updates, explaining reasons for failures, and advising on necessary repairs
  • Diagnose and carry out associated service and repair work where applicable
  • Maintain comprehensive records of tests and repairs as an MOT Tester
  • Support workshop team with general repair and maintenance tasks to ensure smooth workshop operations
  • Liaise effectively with team members to ensure an efficient workflow and exceptional customer service
  • Ensure the workshop maintains high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation as an MOT Tester

Requirements:

  • Hold an active Class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence
  • Possess a valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Ideally qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; individuals with substantial vehicle mechanic experience and an active MOT licence will also be considered
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and a commitment to high‑quality work
  • Proven experience in vehicle inspection and repair within a fast‑paced environment
