Transport Manager role based in Yate, Bristol. Pay: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum. Full-time permanent, fixed shift 8am – 5pm.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, Operator Licence requirements, and transport legislation.
- Monitor driver hours, tachograph compliance (if required), and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Oversee fleet maintenance, MOT scheduling, and defect reporting procedures.
- Lead, manage and develop drivers to embed a customer‑first culture.
- Maintain transport KPIs, including on‑time delivery, fuel efficiency and cost control.
- Conduct driver licence checks, inductions, and ongoing compliance audits.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure seamless service.
- Lead on full utilisation of IT systems.
Qualifications
- Valid Transport Manager CPC qualifications.
- Willingness to be the named person on the Operator licence.
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager.
- Strong knowledge of UK Operator Licence compliance and transport legislation.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Working knowledge of the Highway Code, Tachograph requirements, Working Time regulations, Road Transport Regulations.
- Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Commercial awareness.
