Salary: Band 6 Scale Points 23-25: £34,434-£36,363 per annum (Actual Salary: £29,617.22 - £31,276.38)

Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00, Term time including 5 INSET days

About the School: The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and hard-working Teaching Assistant Level 4 to join our dedicated team at Ashton on Mersey School. The core purpose of the role will be to provide competent management of our pupils with SEND needs and other vulnerable children within a specific Year group within the school, along with the management of other teaching assistants. This will include allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training. The job will also entail planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support pupils with SEND and vulnerable needs within a year group.
  • Oversee allocation, monitoring, appraisal and training of other teaching assistants.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals/groups or whole classes.
  • Monitor pupils’ progress; assess, record and report on achievement and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to assess pupils’ needs and apply specialist skills to support learning.
  • Experience managing teaching assistants and representing them in staff/management meetings.
  • Awareness of equality and diversity; ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities.
  • Advice on deployment and use of specialist aid/resources/equipment.
  • Build productive relationships with pupils, parents and stakeholders; act as a role model.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Provide feedback to pupils, parents and stakeholders on progress and achievement.
