Broomwood Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant 2 SEN, required from September 2026. This is a full-time position (36.25 hours per week, 8:00am‑4:00pm), term time only plus 5 days INSET. The salary band is £28,598–£31,022, with an actual salary of £21,661–£26,682.

Are you an experienced and passionate teaching assistant with a strong commitment to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? Do you thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment and understand the importance of trauma‑informed practice in helping children flourish?

Starting in September 2025, we opened a successful small specialist provision for children from reception to year 2. This unique setting caters for 10 pupils, all of whom will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Awareness of the impact of trauma on children’s development and behaviour; ability to use a relational and inclusive approach to support and nurture them.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Works well within a collaborative team, is flexible, and brings a positive attitude and sense of humour to their work.
  • Confident in implementing individual support plans and differentiated learning strategies.
  • Shares and promotes the school values of Respect, Commitment, Togetherness, Nurturing and Welcoming in everything they do.
