The MR Departments within MFT provide a high‑quality MR service to patients across multiple sites, including 1 Siemens SOLA 1.5T MRI Scanner at Trafford Hospital, 1 Siemens SOLA 1.5T MRI Scanner at Withington Hospital, a Siemens Viato 1.5T Mobile Unit, a wide‑bore Siemens Aera 1.5T at Manchester Royal Infirmary, 2 newly installed Siemens SOLA 1.5T MRI Scanners at Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester Hospital, and a GE 1.5T Signa MRI scanner. MFT MRI sites perform a range of pediatric and adult examinations for outpatient and inpatient services and cover specialties such as breast imaging, urology, GI, neuro, cardiac, MSK, paediatric and oncology. You will work a 12‑hour shift across a 7‑day working pattern and undertake radiographic duties in any of the MR scanners at MFT.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high‑standard radiographic quality and patient care in a timely manner.
- Assess a patient’s condition and adapt technique accordingly.
- Communicate complex imaging information clearly, and inform relatives or carers when necessary.
- Analyse complex tasks or situations requiring interpretation or comparison of a range of options.
- Apply specialist skills for assessing acute and other patient conditions, adapting MR parameters to complex cases.
