TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in South Gloucestershire that supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. The setting provides a structured and nurturing environment, focusing on emotional regulation, behaviour support and helping pupils re‑engage with learning in a safe and supportive way.

The school is looking to appoint a SEMH Teaching Assistant on a full‑time, long‑term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support pupils across primary and secondary ages, working 1:1 and in small groups to manage behaviour, support learning and provide consistent pastoral support.

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
  • A background in pastoral, youth work or alternative provision is advantageous
  • Team Teach training is beneficial or willingness to develop this skill
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • The ability to build strong relationships and engage pupils effectively
