Responsibilities
- Support students with their social, emotional, and mental health needs to enable successful engagement in education.
- Build positive, professional relationships that promote confidence, resilience, independence and self-esteem.
- Work collaboratively with education, pastoral and therapy teams to provide consistent support for every student.
- Help students develop positive behaviours and self-regulation strategies through restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
- Support students during periods of dysregulation, anxiety or crisis in line with Behaviour Support Plans and risk assessments.
- Accompany and support students during educational visits, community activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Provide support during unstructured times, including arrivals, departures, breaktimes, lunchtimes and transitions.
- Maintain accurate records relating to behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and engagement, contributing to reviews and meetings as required.
- Liaise effectively with colleagues and professionals to ensure a joined‑up approach to student support.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare, safety and wellbeing of every student at all times.
