Overview
Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a leading & established International Manufacturing Group to recruit a dynamic & hands‑on Credit Controller based at their Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire site. The role reports directly to the Head of Finance and will take ownership of all credit control processes for the group, while coordinating accounts receivable processes, along with process improvement projects. You will work within a close-knit accounting team in the UK, while liaising with a number of stakeholders across international sites, including Operations, Sales & the Finance Shared Service Centre. This is a full‑time permanent role, offering remote/office hybrid working after probation of 3 days on‑site, 2 days remote, along with a competitive benefit package. Responsibilities
- Managing customer accounts to ensure the timely collection of balances in line with agreed credit terms, monitoring and forecasting cash receipts, and highlighting any risks or delays.
- Holding weekly credit control meetings with sales teams across various sites; acting as the key contact for the shared service centre and overseeing credit insurance declarations.
- Monitoring and reporting key KPIs, including days sales outstanding, calculating customer rebates, processing credit notes, reviewing and approving credit applications, and ensuring appropriate risk assessments.
- Supporting external auditors with accounts receivable queries and identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives for Credit/AR processes.
- Supporting general financial administration when needed, including month‑end support and query resolution.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar credit control role, with general credit control and accounts receivable experience.
- Basic understanding of financial data and credit reports.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to business needs.
- Confident communicator capable of liaising with internal teams and external customers.
- Experience with financial systems, strong MS Excel skills, and aptitude for prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive problem‑solving approach, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, and a manufacturing or construction sector background would be advantageous but is not essential.
