Location: TETBURY. Hours: 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Thursday. 38 hours per week (four‑day week). Start date: Immediate start.

Working as part of the highly skilled Survival Equipment Team, the Trainee Technician will undertake inspection & scheduled maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of personal survival equipment and aircraft safety equipment. The position is fully supported and offers the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in Survival Equipment. The programme equips you with essential skills and experience for a career in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities:

  • The trainee will work with all aspects of servicing & maintaining lifesaving equipment, including parachutes, liferafts, lifejackets and aircrew equipment for both military and civilian sectors.
  • The work is performed at scheduled intervals to meet approved requirements and industry standards.

Duties:

  • Servicing & maintaining survival equipment to company/OEM manuals & guidelines.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and safety policies on all aspects of the escape system.
  • Disassembly, testing & fault finding of survival equipment/escape systems.
  • Repair & replace of components.
  • Performing operational and functional tests of equipment.
  • Introduction to the Defence Engineering Air Environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • No previous experience necessary; willingness and interest in practical applications is advantageous (engineering background a plus).
  • Good GCSE standard of education.
