Our staff have the ability to be mature, responsible and dependable while also being fun and easy going!

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the overall wellbeing and happiness of the children in your care.
  • To help deliver a program of daily activities suitable for the age range of the children in a safe environment.
  • Follow activity plans and instructions provided by the Camp Manager.
  • Lead and supervise a group of children during daily activities, games, and outings.
  • To promote the ethos of Discover Activity Camps, providing an exceptional role model to children in your care.
  • Promotion of exceptional safeguarding practices at all times, including awareness or recording and reporting procedure in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy.
  • To be responsible for the security of the premises in which activities are undertaken.
  • To ensure that buildings and rooms are adequately secured upon departure through the use of door codes and locks.
  • Provide a friendly welcome to all holiday club attendees, meeting and greeting parents, signing children in at the start of the day and out at the end of the day.
  • Accompany children around the site to different activities, supervising lunch and supervising open play sessions.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience working with children aged 4 - 14 years old.
  • Experience coaching, teaching or instructing young people is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience delivering other activities such as arts/dance/music/computing/science.
  • Childcare/educational play certificates.

Skills

  • Ability to work in a busy environment as part of a friendly team, interfacing with parents, staff and most importantly the children.
  • Ability to adapt to different situations and think creatively.
  • Enthusiastic with a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
