Teacher of Mathematics (Temporary) in Newcastle.

Full‑time temporary position commencing 1 September 2026 and ending 31 October 2026, with possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum, monitor and support pupil progress, contribute positively to the wider life of the school, maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement, and attendance, and work collaboratively with colleagues within the Mathematics department.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and support pupil progress, ensuring all learners are challenged and supported.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement, and attendance.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Mathematics department.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire young people to achieve their potential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
