Location: Aberystwyth. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Branch Assistant to join our busy branch team. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced trade and retail environment, supporting daily branch operations while delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge customers promptly
- Serve customers efficiently both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Resolve customer queries effectively
- Assist customers with loading purchases where appropriate
- Accurately pick materials for deliveries, collections, and stock transfers
- Identify and report faulty or damaged goods
- Assist drivers with loading company vehicles
- Check materials for quality and quantity
- Operate fork trucks safely (where trained and certified)
- Support stock accuracy and inventory management
- Assist with weekly and annual stock takes
- Support merchandising and store layout changes
- Promote and sell products to maximise margins and profitability
- Process sales and credit transactions accurately
- Take responsibility for cash and account transactions
- Forward sales leads to relevant team members
Qualifications
- A proactive, team-oriented approach
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a physically active role
- Forklift certification (desirable but not essential)
- A reliable and flexible attitude

Hours of work: An average of 40.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am – 4.30pm, plus every other Saturday morning from 8.00am until 12.00pm.
