A Healthcare Assistant (Band 2) supports patients in the Outpatient setting, delivering basic patient care and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. The role involves supporting patients within the department at Hollinswood House, Community Diagnostic Centre, Stafford Park, Telford.
The main duties of the role involve:
- Supporting patients within the Outpatient setting.
- Taking patients' height and weight.
- Chaperoning patients during physical examinations conducted by the clinical nurse specialist and consultants.
- Assisting nursing staff with both clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Maintaining a safe and clean Outpatient environment by preparing equipment, managing stock, and following infection prevention procedures.
- Providing administrative support, including assisting with admissions and discharges, and handling basic enquiries.
The post holder is expected to manage their workload effectively, work collaboratively within the team, and communicate sensitively with patients, families, and colleagues, while adhering to Trust policies and professional standards.
