We are currently recruiting for a Technical Compliance Officer (Fire Safety) to support Shropshire Council on a full-time, interim basis. This is a key role focused on ensuring statutory fire safety compliance across a varied property portfolio.
Contract Details
- £23.37 per hour (PAYE)
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
- Contract until September 2026
- Immediate start available
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting fire safety compliance across council-managed properties, including:
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and regulations
- Reviewing and managing fire risk assessments
- Coordinating remedial actions and compliance works
- Liaising with contractors, internal teams and stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate compliance records and reporting
Key Requirements
- Experience in fire safety compliance, ideally within public sector or FM environments
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation (e.g. Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order)
- Experience managing risk assessments and compliance programmes
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills
- Organised with strong attention to detail
Compliance Requirements
- Enhanced DBS (with barred list) is required
- Right to work in the UK
