Early Years Assistants – Permanent, Term Time Only
Salary & Hours:
- Full‑time: 32.5 hours/week (5 days, 8:30‑3:30) – actual salary £18,629.54 – £18,921.80
- Part‑time: 19.5 hours/week (3 days, 8:30‑3:30) – actual salary £11,177.72 – £11,353.08
- Short‑term: 6.5 hours/week (1 day, 8:30‑3:30) – actual salary £3,725.91 – £3,784.36
Start date: 3 September 2026. Three posts available. You may apply for any one or a combination of the above hour blocks.
We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Assistants who will work in partnership with staff, parents, carers and children to provide high‑quality care and education for children aged 2‑4.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children’s activities in both indoor and outdoor areas, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
- Promote the development, welfare and potential of all children, adopting a flexible, professional approach.
- Ensure safeguarding of all children, visitors and staff.
- Support children’s personal, social, moral and educational development within a stable, caring and supportive environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Food hygiene qualification or willingness to undertake training.
- First aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.
- Experience working in a nursery setting.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification (NVQ, HND, BTEC in Early Years).
- Knowledge of SFEYFS and Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Understanding of child development and how to encourage learning.
- Willingness to attend courses to improve knowledge and skills.
- Team worker who is caring, compassionate and a reflective practitioner.
- Commitment to excellent standards, flexibility and patience.
