They are responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and delivering care, administering treatments, and ensuring patient safety and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans; deliver safe and effective nursing care in line with best practice; monitor patients’ conditions; respond promptly to changes; provide emotional support and promote patient dignity and independence.
  • Clinical Duties: administer medications safely; perform clinical procedures such as wound care, injections, catheterisation; maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records; ensure compliance with clinical governance and care standards.
  • Care Coordination: work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams; participate in handovers; support discharge planning and patient transitions.
