As part of the BSW Shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme, this 18‑month fixed‑term role provides specialist information and configuration support for the implementation, optimisation and ongoing management of the EPR across Great Western Hospital, Royal United Hospitals Bath and Salisbury Foundation Trust. The postholder will configure systems such as Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium and related clinical applications safely, accurately and in line with clinical workflows. Working closely with clinical, operational and digital teams, the role helps shape future processes and supports the delivery of high‑quality, efficient care through digital technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure and maintain EPR workflows, ensuring system build aligns with organisational policies and service needs.
  • Analyse current and future clinical and operational processes, working with staff to agree system configuration and support the transition to new digital workflows.
  • Act as a key link between clinical teams and the shared EPR system, identifying opportunities for improvement, translating requirements into system changes and ensuring safe, effective configuration.
  • Interrogate databases, produce analysis to support decision‑making and contribute to the wider optimisation of the EPR across all BSW organisations.
  • Provide a customer‑focused, high‑quality specialist information service including database interrogation and statistical analysis to support implementation, configuration, optimisation and ongoing management of the EPR across the BSW organisations.
