Octavius is a leading civil engineering organisation dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for the Wales & Western Stations and Buildings Work Contract for Control Period 7 (CP7), covering 2024 to 2029. These roles involve the commercial management of a portfolio of projects with an estimated annual value of £10 million.

This framework includes maintenance and renewals of canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways.

The roles will involve travel to our sites in the South West and offices in Swindon or Bristol on average 2 days per week.

You will be responsible for the robust commercial management of a variety of projects. This includes overseeing financial performance, managing costs, conducting procurement processes, and maintaining accurate financial logs and reports. You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and achieving business plan commitments. You will lead the commercial management of both projects and manage a small team, ensuring their development and performance.

Requirements

  • Practical experience in a quantity surveying role in a civil engineering environment, working for a main contractor.
  • NEC Contracts experience is essential.
  • Experience working on rail renewal, enhancement or AFA schemes is an advantage.
  • Experience working on multiple and large projects simultaneously, be able to work independently and manage a small team.
