Deputy Manager

• Children’s Residential Home Swindon Up to £33,000 per annum Not every children’s home is the same.
• Some are all paperwork and pressure.
• This one is about building a solid team, creating a calm and supportive home, and actually making a difference to young people who need consistency, boundaries, and people who genuinely care.
• We’re looking for a Deputy Manager who’s confident, down to earth, and experienced working with children and young people in residential care.
• Someone who can lead shifts, support staff, handle the tough days, and still remember that relationships are the most important part of the job.
• You’ll be supporting young people with a range of needs including trauma, EBD, autism, and challenging behaviour, while helping to create a safe and stable environment where they can grow and feel secure.
• What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
• Leading shifts and supporting the staff team
• Helping young people build confidence, independence, and routines
• Managing safeguarding, risk, and behaviour support professionally
• Supporting with care plans, rotas, reports, and compliance
• Being a positive role model for both staff and young people
• Stepping up when needed and helping keep the home running smoothly
• What we’re looking for:
• Experience working in children’s residential care
• Previous senior or leadership experience preferred
• Calm, resilient, and able to handle challenging situations
• Good sense of humour and a genuine passion for helping young people
• Flexible to work shifts, sleep-ins, and weekends when needed
