This is a fantastic opportunity to be right at the heart of things, acting as the friendly face of Thames Water when meeting our customers. Each year, we run over 500,000 checks on water samples that we collect from our treatment centres, reservoirs, and a mix of customer homes, all to make sure your tap water is of the highest quality.
Responsibilities
- You’ll be on the move a lot, travelling between different customers and sites, working as part of a lively team covering quite a large area.
- Your main job will be testing water samples in domestic homes and businesses.
- You’ll oversee the management of your sampling records and maintenance of sampling equipment ensuring they are kept to industry standards.
- You might also assist with investigating supply issues or customer complaints now and again.
Base location: Cirencester, Wiltshire, GL7 5QF.
Working hours: Standard hours are 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. The role also includes participation in a standby rota, with extended hours from 7:30 am to 5 pm and weekend working. Additional payment is provided for standby duties.
Qualifications
- Experienced driver with a clean manual driving licence and confidence in a medium‑size vehicle in busy areas with high volume of traffic.
- Customer‑facing experience and comfortable visiting domestic houses and businesses.
- Good at planning routes, organised and able to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of the water industry is a plus, but not required.
- Good computer literacy, attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures.
