This role is a fixed‑term position within the Department of Rheumatology, intended to replace a Deanery Registrar gap. The appointed candidate will join an established team of medical staff, including five consultants, two registrars and GP trainees, and help drive forward improvements in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the prescribing and monitoring of DMARDs under the support of the Rheumatology DAWN administrative team.
- Share responsibilities for inpatient rheumatology ward referral reviews with the Rheumatology Specialist Trainee Registrars.
- Answer ad‑hoc advice and guidance queries from rheumatology specialist nurses, patients and GPs.
- Take part in up to three rheumatology clinics per week, covering general, specialist and early arthritis services.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team, participating in regular MDT discussions.
- Maintain continuing responsibility for the care of patients in charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
- Contribute to continuing medical education activities and clinical audit initiatives, informing quality improvement.
- Provide evidence‑based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Perform suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
- Provide cover for colleagues’ periods of leave in accordance with Trust policy arrangements.
