We are looking for a full time Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist to provide a high quality and effective musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy service at various locality sites in Swindon.
The band 6 rotations will include Spinal, Upper Limb, Lower Limb, Amputees, Pain, alongside general outpatients and may include access to specialist services such as hands and rheumatology, with support from specialist supervisors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions and complex physical and psychological conditions.
- Providing a diagnosis and developing an individualised treatment programme.
- Holding responsibility for own caseload and being responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
- Supervising band 5 physiotherapists and participating in their personal and professional development including In-Service Training.
- Delegating to assistants and other staff where appropriate.
- Supervising, educating and assessing the performance of physiotherapy students.
- Undertaking evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team’s clinical practice within each rotation.
- Making recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team.
- Being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care.
- Undertaking a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies.
- Using advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
- Setting appropriate therapeutic goals based on accurate prognosis for patients to monitor outcomes, evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment required to ensure effective discharge.
