The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.
We are looking to appoint an After School Club Assistant to support our new After School Club provision. The position is for 2.5 hrs a day between Monday and Thursday and for 4.25 hrs on a Friday, during school term time. The successful candidate will ideally hold a Level 3 childcare qualification and will have experience of working with children. We would also consider suitable candidates who are looking for their first role working with children, if they can demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
The role will involve preparing and running a range of fun activities to engage children of different ages, under the guidance of the After School Club Leader. The successful candidate will join our friendly staff team, working with children across the primary age range and Nursery to ensure that the children at St. Catherine’s After School Club are safe, happy and engaged.
Job Requirements- Setting up the After School Club room
- Preparing snacks (Food hygiene training will be provided if necessary.)
- Supervising pupils while they are eating
- Organising craft and sport activities
- Organising games
- Managing pupil behaviour in line with school policies
- Helping to resolve disputes between children
- Dealing with first aid incidents (Training will be provided if you are not a qualified First Aider.)
- Communicating with other staff, parents and carers
- Keeping up to date with safeguarding training and school safeguarding policies
- Monday – 3pm to 5:30pm
- Tuesday – 3pm to 5:30pm
- Wednesday – 3pm to 5:30pm
- Thursday – 3pm to 5:30pm
- Friday – 1:15pm to 5:30pm
The successful candidate will enjoy communicating and working with children and will lead crafts and games and encourage children to join in. They will have a keen eye for detail and be able to keep calm when helping to resolve problems. Positivity, excellent communication skills and organisational skills are essential, as are the ability to use initiative and work independently. Applicants will support the Christian ethos of our school.
