Hays are now looking for a Technical Project Manager for one of our local clients: Flexible rate, Outside IR35 Remote Network Refresh / Data Migration.
An organisation completing a large-scale network modernisation programme is seeking a Senior Technical Project Management consultant to support the final delivery phase. The focus of this engagement is to provide independent coordination and assurance across complex Cisco-based network and datacentre migrations, ensuring a controlled transition into operational service.
Responsibilities
- Provide structured project management and continuity during the final stages of a network transformation programme.
- Coordinate delivery across Cisco SDA campus networking and Cisco ACI datacentre workstreams.
- Work closely with internal infrastructure teams and specialist Cisco partners to plan, sequence, and execute migration activity.
- Oversee campus network and Wi-Fi cutovers into software-defined network environments.
- Manage dependencies, milestones, risks, and issues across multiple parallel technical streams.
- Support governance reporting and financial tracking aligned to agreed approval and control processes.
- Coordinate migration schedules, technical readiness activities, and stakeholder communications.
- Support the transition from programme delivery into business-as-usual operational support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience delivering complex network or infrastructure transformation programmes.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking technologies, including: Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).
- Understanding of datacentre and platform migrations, including virtualisation and storage technologies.
- Experience working alongside internal infrastructure teams and third-party Cisco engineering partners.
- Ability to manage technically complex migrations and cutover activity within live environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitation of technical planning and readiness sessions.
- Comfortable operating independently in a consultancy role, focused on delivery outcomes rather than resource augmentation.
