Domestic Electrician HMP Swansea| Full-Time | Permanent Your New Company A leading provider of maintenance within the secure environment of HMP Swansea is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its growing team.

Working across the establishment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical repairs, testing, maintenance, and installation services.

Your New Role As a Maintenance Electrician and part of the Works Department you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance.

Key duties will include:

  • Testing and inspecting electrical installations in a commercial building
  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and fault-finding on electrical systems.
  • Replacing circuits and consumer units.
  • Undertaking full and partial property rewires.
  • Delivering electrical repairs and testing within occupied and void housing stock.
  • Completing work in line with current wiring regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and site-specific requirements.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Essential Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or 2394 & 2395 equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2382 Electrical Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2360/2351 Installation Certificate or equivalent NVQ qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Asbestos Awareness Training

Desirable Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2393 Part P Qualification
  • City & Guilds 2377 PAT Testing

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Domestic Electrician.
  • Strong fault-finding and testing abilities.
  • Experience carrying out domestic installations and rewires.
  • Good understanding of current industry regulations and best practice.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Basic IT literacy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
