The predicted salary is between 37338 - 44962 £ per year.
The post holder should be competent in mammography reporting, breast and axillary ultrasound, image guided biopsy of the breast and axilla. It would also be desirable if the radiologist has experience in additional procedures such as vacuum assisted biopsy/excision, pre-operative localisation techniques and MRI breast reporting. Experience of contrast enhanced mammography would also be desirable.
Participation in the Breast MDT will be essential. The post holder will be expected to undertake symptomatic breast assessment clinics and actively engage in the breast MDT. Participation in the general on call is not expected for this post, but if the candidate wished to participate this can be discussed. Participation in the general on call is recompensed by 1 session of programmed lieu time. This is currently on a 1 in 17 basis.
They could also participate in the Duty Radiologist rota covering inpatient scanning in Morriston, and an afternoon duty radiology rota in Singleton, but this is not expected. Home Tele-Radiology is available using a laptop with Citrix access or a Swansea bay modem affording the ability to MPR. There are now 13 trainees on rotation to Swansea which has allowed a night shift of ST2-ST5 covering the on call requesting and reporting. Outsourcing is used to supplement on-call reporting as per protocol. A home working solution is offered where available.
