Role Overview:

The Business Partner for Risk is part of a well‑established Assurance team that supports the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to embed risk management processes across the agency. The role holder will support the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to embed and improve the agency’s approach to risk management, ensuring there is a robust risk control framework that takes account of best practice, including wider Departmental and Government policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Provide support to the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to ensure an effective risk management framework is in place for the agency that is compliant with the Orange Book framework.
  • Monitor, challenge & report on the quality and content of risk information.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Corporate Senior Leaders and other managers across DVSA on risk management processes and escalation points, ensuring adherence to DVSA, DfT and civil service frameworks.
  • Prepare the monthly risk reporting by collating and analysing directorate risk registers, providing briefing information to the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience for presentation to the Executive Committee recommending areas of focus and mitigation.
  • Be the first point of contact for the risk champions in providing subject‑matter expert advice and guidance.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and ongoing needs of the risk champions and provide recommendations on future training needs to ensure that the risk champions are utilised in the most effective way.
  • Demonstrate leadership by providing guidance to colleagues to support the delivery of objectives.
  • Manage and engage with honesty and integrity, and uphold the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.
