As a Respite Support Worker, you will help make everyday remarkable for the people we support and enable them to live a fulfilled life in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support individuals in making their own choices and setting their own goals, such as daily decisions about clothing, meals, or larger decisions about where to live, finances, and leisure activities.
  • Empower people to carry out these choices by encouraging them to attend structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills.
  • Provide practical support to enable clients to meet responsibilities, including paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.
  • Assist with sleep-in shifts and weekend shifts.
  • Record events and take notes, ensuring empathy and meaning in documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • No experience required – full training is provided.
  • Patience and empathy.
  • Respectful and dignified approach to personal care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to speak on behalf of others and liaise with professional people.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to a personal car, with knowledge of obtaining business insurance; mileage paid at 45p per mile.
