About me
I am seeking a Personal Assistant to take my 5-year-old daughter out for activities. She loves going for walks, for a drive in the car, visits to the beach and park, and swimming.
Driving will be required, so a full driving licence and access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover is essential.
My daughter has a learning disability, and is non-verbal, so experience in this area would be helpful. She requires supervision at all times to keep her safe.
I would initially accompany sessions to ensure my daughter is familiar and comfortable with you.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in relation to existing favoured activities, such as going for walks, visits to the park and beach, and swimming.
- Take my daughter for a drive in the car, which can assist with episodes of emotional dysregulation.
- Provide one-to-one care and attention at all times, to keep my daughter safe.
- Always carry a mobile phone.
- Keep the mobile phone charged for use in an emergency.
- Ensure patience, excellent observation and interpersonal skills, to ensure needs are met.
- Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.
- Willing to undertake any further training if required.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Full driving licence and access to a car with suitable business insurance cover.
- Experience supporting a child with a learning disability and who is non-verbal.
- Trustworthy, kind, punctual and reliable; patient and supportive with good listening skills and ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support.
- Confidentiality and respect for privacy, including prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
- Can work flexibly, adapting to the variable requirements of this role.
- DBS and 2 references required.
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK essential; we are not able to offer sponsorship.
