We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker/Health Care Assistant for our Neuro Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping individuals recovering from neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other cognitive impairments. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to implement tailored rehabilitation plans that promote independence and enhance the quality of life for our clients.

Your responsibilities will involve:

  • Assisting clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Supporting clients in daily living activities and mobility assistance.
  • Implementing and monitoring rehabilitation exercises as directed by the healthcare team.
  • Encouraging and engaging clients in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client progress and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to clients and their families.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and nutritional needs to promote overall well-being.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in health and social care or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with neurological conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature when supporting clients.
  • Basic first aid certification and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
