Your new company An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a busy and supportive small Finance team for a successful company based in Stretford (Manchester). Your new role:This role would suit someone with strong purchase ledger and accounts payable experience who is comfortable taking ownership of their workload and working accurately within a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the purchase ledger, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Process and allocate payments, post supplier invoices and correct any issues identified.
- Manage and monitor the Accounts Payable inbox, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and complete payment runs across multiple currencies and group bank accounts.
- Reconcile information across different systems, identifying and correcting any variances.
- Provide general administrative support to the wider Finance team.
- Assist with additional finance and administrative duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience within Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable is essential.
- Strong communication skills with a professional and helpful approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Confident, working independently and using your own initiative.
- Well‑organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to support the wider team.
- Previous experience using Business Central would be advantageous.
