Our operational teams are at the front and center of our service delivery, and we have an exciting opportunity at our Trafford Park office for an Operations Manager to help us drive quality and growth. Working with the Group Manager and our operational teams, you’ll be closely involved in planning moves and allocating resources to ensure the best possible service delivery to our customers every time.
Responsibilities
- Planning the workload effectively to ensure the best use of operational resources.
- Assisting the Branch Manager with HR duties such as recruiting, selecting, scheduling, and counselling employees.
- Promoting high morale, best practice and communicating the company’s operating and safety policies.
- Resolving customer service issues.
- Assisting with financial forecasts, annual budgets, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions.
- Ensuring operational policies and procedures are rigorously observed.
- Reviewing and approving operational invoices and forwarding them to payment.
- Ensuring 100% compliance with transport legislation and regulations.
Qualifications and requirements
You’ll need excellent problem solving, people and communication skills, as well as the ability to make tough decisions in a timely manner. If you have a Transport Management CPC qualification then great; if not, with our fully funded help and support, we will expect you to pass this qualification within 12 months of joining. Ideally, you’ll have experience in a fast moving logistics environment, but more importantly, you’ll share our passion for excellence and believe that you can be part of our future. Living within easy commutable distance from Trafford Park is essential. This role is challenging but varied, and there is great satisfaction to be had too.
