ARMSTRONG SIDDELEY OWNERS CLUB Ltd. COMPANY ACTIVITY: We supply parts for Armstrong Siddeley Classic Cars.
ROLE: Stores Manager
REMUNERATION: Up to £14.50 per hour depending on experience, for a fixed 24 hours per week. Any personal expenses pre-authorised, paid at 20p per mile (under review) for travel by car or van and on an actuality basis against receipts for all other expenses.
HOURS: The days and hours worked to be agreed and fixed prior to contracting, but are envisaged as falling within Monday to Friday, except bank holidays. We can be very flexible in agreeing these. Occasional overtime as agreed. Could include some occasional home working and very occasional overtime at a weekend.
HOLIDAYS: 28 days per year including all English Bank Holidays (8 days) pro rata to a 5 day week based on exact number of half or full days contracted.
REPORTING TO: The Board of Directors.
Prime Purposes of the Role Overall:
- To manage and further develop an effective, profitable and well received classic car spare parts service principally based on an online shop.
- Responding to online orders and enquiries via email, telephone, club Facebook message and occasionally in person and in compliance with the companies Terms and Conditions of Sales.
- Ensuring parts are dispatched by mail or courier.
- Supporting sales through Ebay and Facebook listings.
- Keeping the premises and stock in good order and attending to storage needs as required.
- Source and ordering new stock as required.
- Setting prices of stock in line with policy guidance given.
- Working with the Remanufacturing Director and others to acquire stock needed that cannot otherwise be sourced and ensuring this can be sold profitably.
- Liaising with Stores Managers in associated overseas organisations, principally the ASCC Australian Stores Manager, and in particular with regard to remanufacturing and stock purchase.
- Keeping all records up to date, issuing sales invoices and orders etc as required and ensuring the Treasure has regular reports on all transactions.
- At all times acting in a safe and responsibly manner and in compliance with all company policies as published on the company website, and all relevant legislation.
- To do bi-monthly sales promotions for the organisation’s magazine, website and company Facebook page.
- Under the guidance of the Stores Director, facilitating the occasional purchase and sales of vehicles.
- To keep the companies premises tidy and secure; and report any repairs needed.
- To take monthly readings of the electricity meters.
- To operate the clubs forklift truck to access stock on pallet racking.
- To occasionally drive the organisation’s van as needed to collect or deliver stock.
- To undertake other duties as occasionally required by the organisation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A friendly open manner.
- Able to work on own initiative to organise and prioritise tasks.
- Good team working.
- Very good IT and computer skills. (ShopWired & Stripe Experience desirable)
- Knowledge of motor parts.
- Experience of selling.
- Experience of setting own priorities and working unsupervised.
- Ability to supervise and train another.
- Qualified to drive a fork lift truck or willing to be trained to do so.
- Driving license.
Supervision, Guidance and Support:
- Supervised and guided by a nominated off-site stores director.
- Second nominated off-site director organises remanufacturing of parts.
- Guidance on Website and Magazine insertions is provided by the Editor and Webmaster.
- Financial advice from the Financial Controller.
- Advice on Armstrong Siddeley cars and parts is available from the Technical Helpline volunteers and stores director.
- Comprehensive records of most parts and their applications is on ShopWired and also on printed and scanned documents.
- Company policies and terms and conditions, as published on the company’s website.
- The role is supported by a stores assistant and / or volunteer helpers.
Range of Decision Making:
- Required to exercise a good professional judgement consistent with the role and within financial limits agreed by the board of directors in pursuit of profitable business and customer satisfaction.
- To negotiate and agree terms with third parties for the supply or sale of items within the company’s terms of business policies.
