We are seeking skilled Year 2 Teachers to provide high-quality cover across a variety of local schools. This role is perfect for those who enjoy the academic challenge of Year 2 - balancing curriculum standards with creative delivery - without the stress of full-time data tracking.

Impactful Teaching: Play a vital role in a child's final year of Key Stage 1, ensuring they are prepared for the transition to Juniors (KS2).

SATs Support: Use your expertise to guide pupils through assessment periods with a calm, supportive, and "no-pressure" approach.

Freedom & Variety: Work across different school environments, from creative arts-led schools to those with a heavy focus on academic excellence.

Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £140 - £233, paid every Friday via Randstad.

Your Role as a Year 2 Specialist

You are responsible for maintaining high expectations and helping pupils bridge the gap to more independent learning.

  • Confident Curriculum Delivery: Deliver engaging lessons in Literacy and Numeracy that challenge "Greater Depth" learners while supporting those meeting expectations.
  • Phonics & Reading: Continue to embed strong decoding skills and foster a genuine love for reading as children move toward more complex texts.
  • Classroom Leadership: Maintain a focused and positive learning environment using established behaviour management strategies.
  • Consistent Continuity: Follow the permanent teacher's planning accurately or use your own high-quality "emergency" resources to ensure a productive day of learning.
