Salary: £18-20 per hour

Contract: Temporary 6-8 weeks

Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive life changes? We are looking for a motivated Recovery Worker in Stoke-on-Trent to join our multi-disciplinary team and help individuals move forward in their treatment and recovery journey.

In this role, you will be a key point of contact for service users - from their first engagement through to ongoing recovery support. You will help people reduce drug and alcohol-related harm, access the right services, strengthen their wellbeing, and reconnect with their communities.

What You’ll do as a Recovery Worker:

  • Support service users from entry into the service through every stage of their recovery.
  • Carry out assessments, screening and recovery planning using motivational techniques.
  • Coordinate personalised packages of care, including psychosocial interventions, 1:1 key work, group work, clinical input and harm reduction.
  • Complete ongoing risk assessments, reviews and referrals to specialist or community services.
  • Promote harm minimisation, provide education around blood-borne viruses and overdose prevention, and support access to needle exchange and naloxone (training provided).
  • Build recovery capital by linking people with peer support, mutual aid and community resources.
  • Work closely with health services, GPs, hospitals and other partners to ensure joined-up care.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the service, including ad-hoc reception, duty and clinical support.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting, supportive relationships.
  • Confidence in managing risk and supporting people with diverse needs and backgrounds.
