Responsibilities include:
- Providing cover, including attendance at daily board rounds on the medicine escalation ward and medical patients outlying in other areas.
- Taking ongoing responsibility for patients under your care.
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues in other specialties and participating in clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
- Having responsibility for the professional supervision and development of trainee/locum doctors within escalation/medical outliers.
- Developing and maintaining good communications with General Practitioners and appropriate external agencies.
- Sharing responsibility for data protection arising out of the use of computers.
- Complying with all relevant Trust Policies and Procedures and taking responsibility for improving and complying with infection control practices.
- Ensuring that all Trust-wide standards are maintained to improve the quality of total care to all who come into contact with services provided by UHNM NHS Trust.
- Demonstrating a firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit, including the development and maintenance of appropriate systems and practices to ensure continued safe clinical practice.
- The Trust supports continuing professional development (CPD) as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities, including appraisal arrangements in line with GMC and RCP guidance.
