The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team and this is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding, creative teacher with the drive, passion and commitment to join our hugely talented team of staff, working together to encourage and support every child in reaching their full potential.
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students the practical and theoretical aspects of food science, nutrition, food safety, culinary techniques, and sustainable food practices. You will design and deliver lessons that engage students in understanding the science of food, preparing and cooking various types of dishes, and studying the impact of food on health and the environment. Food Technology Teachers also promote safe kitchen practices, nutrition, and the development of essential life skills.
Please note that we do not employ unqualified teachers. Only applications from candidates with QTS status will be considered for any teaching post.
As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students of all abilities.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to enhance the learning experience.
- Ensure lessons are tailored to the curriculum standards and meet the developmental needs of students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods (demonstrations, practical work, videos, discussions) to enhance learning.
- Assess students' progress through practical work, written assignments, projects, and exams.
