Key Responsibilities
  • Lead behaviour support initiatives, promoting positive behaviour and self‑regulation skills
  • Promote a positive, nurturing school culture that prioritises pupil well‑being, inclusion, and high expectations
  • Work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to support pupils’ pastoral needs
  • Develop, implement and monitor pastoral care programmes that support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Support pupils in developing resilience, motivation and positive relationships, and promote pupil voice and involvement in decisions affecting their well‑being
  • Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to support vulnerable pupils and act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (training provided)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
  • Provide guidance, training and support to staff on pastoral care, behaviour management and trauma‑informed practice, and coordinate mental health support and staff training on well‑being
  • Engage parents, carers and external agencies as partners in supporting pupil well‑being and development
  • Coordinate multi‑agency support and interventions for pupils with complex needs
  • Maintain accurate records related to pastoral care, behaviour incidents and interventions
  • Contribute to the development and review of school policies related to behaviour, safeguarding and well‑being
