Stock Control Operative needed - Stockport. The Best Connection are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Stock Control Operative to become part of our clients friendly and hardworking team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands‑on role, takes pride in keeping things organised, and wants to be part of a supportive business where their contribution genuinely matters. You'll play an important role in making sure materials, stock, and finished goods move smoothly through our warehouse and production areas, helping us deliver excellent service to our customers.
Pay: Between £12.71 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7am until 3:30pm (40 hours per week)
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and checking deliveries against packing notes
- Booking stock into Sage and storing items in the correct locations
- Picking parts and materials for production orders
- Processing and allocating work orders within Sage
- Replenishing stock to production and WIP stores
- Preparing finished goods for dispatch to customers
- Working closely with the office team to complete dispatch paperwork and labelling
- Loading goods safely onto transport vehicles
- Monitoring stock levels and highlighting shortages when needed
- Carrying out regular stock checks and PI counts
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment
- Supporting good housekeeping across all storage and warehouse areas

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous warehouse, stores, or stock control experience
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Good IT skills including Sage, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams
- Experience using ERP systems such as Sage
Desirable:
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
