About the role

Availability Window

  • Sun: 13:00 - 17:00
  • Mon: 10:00 - 16:00
  • Fri: 16:00 - 22:00
  • Sat: 10:00 - 18:00

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride; give great natural service.
  • Demonstrate passion and knowledge of the products and services within the store.
  • Work across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Apply the training received to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that serve customers, delivering routines in store that meet their needs at the right time.
  • Take part in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about store performance, understand your part in driving service and sales, reducing waste and shrink, and delivering profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
  • Accept deliveries into the store when required.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude, greet customers with a smile and deliver great service.
  • Build rapport with customers so they leave with a great shopping experience.
  • Take initiative and make decisions that are right for customers.
