JOB ROLE: Children’s Activity Based Support Worker.
LOCATION: Please note, you are required to hold a Full UK Driving License as this role is based in Maer, ST5.
SALARY: £13.95 - £14.55 per hour.
SHIFT PATTERNS: 39 hours per week. This rota involves working 4 consecutive days followed by 7 days off, then 3 consecutive days of work followed by another 7 days off.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
- Accommodation and meals will be provided to you throughout your stay.
The role is based in an activity-based residential home specifically designed to support young people aged 8-18 who may face social, emotional and mental health challenges. Our Activity and Intervention service offers a 12‑week programme to provide a change of scenery, a break from difficult circumstances, a fresh start and help them build confidence through positive routines. While your primary role is as a care worker, a strong focus on adventure and staying active is key. Think mountain biking, rock climbing, walking, kayaking and more.
Key Responsibilities & Role Requirements
- Age & Driving License: Must be over 21 and hold a full UK driver’s licence.
- Commitment: Ability to work 39 hours per week, adhering to the 4 days on, 7 days off shift pattern, including sleep‑ins.
- Eligibility to Work in the UK: Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Support & Care: Build nurturing relationships with young people, providing emotional stability and daily care to help them thrive.
- Engage in Outdoor Activities: Lead adventurous activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking and kayaking, fostering confidence and essential life skills.
- Personal Development: Serve as a role model, supporting personal and social development through structured activities and day‑to‑day care routines.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work within a supportive team to create a safe, caring and stimulating environment for the children.
