About the role…
The completion of work is an important requirement for the Business in collaboration with stakeholders and customers. You will provide support to ensure that the company’s work is effectively programmed & delivered in an efficient and productive way. You will play a key role within the Planning team, working with the Work Planners, who will be responsible for the administration of all streetwork permits and notices related to water and infrastructure works. The role requires high levels of IT skills as there will be the need to create and distribute management spreadsheets, reports, and plans. Reporting to the Planning Manager you will be able to confidently manage a busy workload on your own initiative and will adopt a flexible approach to your working day.
As a Streetworks Coordinator you will…
- Arrange for Streetworks Permits as required and in accordance with procedures
- Ensure Traffic Management Plans are available in accordance with procedures
- Assist with the management and administration of permitting, involving the monitoring and coordination of Streetworks activities
- Work closely with local authorities, responsible for opening and closing permits using Streetworks systems whilst ensuring compliance with the TMA (Traffic Management Act)
- Respond to Highways comments, PMR and manage active permits to prevent any Fixed Penalty Notices and Overrun charges
- Schedule and program high volume Thames Water works for multiple teams, issuing road closure, parking suspension application forms to Local Authorities
- Assist with day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope
- Monitor and identify street works compliance, performance risk in relation to Section 74, Fixed Penalty Notice
- Lead on all aspects of Streetworks co-ordination providing clear understanding of all Permits
- Implement change and align to department and business strategy
- Control successful delivery of time bound SLA’s
- Liaise with Sub-contractors on effective updates of all permitting matters
- Operate in line with Company policies and strategies and be proactive in promoting improvement locally
- Maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively and achieve personal targets
- Comply with the relevant Company Health and Safety Policy provisions
- Establish good relationships and communication and resolve issues and early resolution of any potential problems.
About You
- Experience in Utilities Industry
- Experience in planning management with Street works; Permitting and Traffic Management.
- IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office package
- Knowledge of Symology & Streetworks Software
- Understanding of NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act), and associated codes of practice and industry best practice advice.
