An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Transcriptionist Team Leader to join St Helens Administrative Team. The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to Consultants and Junior Medical Doctors in Community Mental Health Services. The community mental health teams work with individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues as well as those with less severe illness who have not responded to interventions in primary care. Services are flexible, responsive and proactive, with a focus on integrated care to help individuals achieve the highest level of functioning in the least restrictive setting.
Responsibilities
- The post holder’s main duties include planning, organising, directing and coordinating the work of the identified service.
- This requires organising personal workload and coordinating workload activities within the team, maintaining a friendly telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills.
- The role is expected to work with minimal supervision, deliver work to tight deadlines, and withstand the pressure of a busy department through initiative and flexibility.
- Confidentiality must be maintained at all times, and the post holder must adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in audio‑typing and word‑processing packages.
- Qualified to RSA Level 3 typing/word‑processing or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and possession of the AMSPAR certificate.
