Desian Education is looking for a compassionate and experienced Level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistant with a strong background in SEN to join a friendly primary school team. This role is perfect for someone who is dedicated to supporting children with additional needs and is ready to hit the ground running. You will be working closely with class teachers to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.

Your Role

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Implementing individual learning plans and monitoring progress.
  • Assisting with classroom management and helping to create an inclusive environment.
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of pupils.
  • Liaising with the school SENCo and parents regarding pupil development.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher).
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of the primary curriculum and various SEN strategies.
  • Availability: Must be able to start ASAP and have a valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
