Desian Education is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in St Helens. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional looking to make a significant impact on pupil progress and support teaching staff in a vibrant learning environment.
As an HLTA, you will be expected to step up and lead whole-class learning, provide targeted interventions, and support the class teacher in the daily management of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities- Leading and teaching whole classes during the teacher’s PPA time or in their absence.
- Delivering high-quality interventions (literacy, numeracy, and Phonics) to small groups and individuals.
- Assisting with the planning and preparation of learning materials.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with varied needs, including those with SEND or EAL.
Experience
You must have significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a UK primary school setting.
Qualifications
Level 4 HLTA qualification (or equivalent/relevant degree) is highly desirable.
Skills
Strong curriculum knowledge (EYFS, KS1, or KS2) and the confidence to lead a classroom independently.
