Civil Site Manager (SR163 / Civils PCSM) - National Grid Substation

Location: Iron Acton 132/275kV Substation

Start Date: 29/04/2026

End Date: 04/12/2026

Hours: 45 hours per week (07:30 - 17:30)

Rate: £600 per day

Type: Contract (Inside IR35 - LTD not permitted)

The Opportunity

We are supporting a major National Grid delivery partner in securing an experienced Civil Site Manager / Civils PCSM (SR163 level) to join a live substation project at Iron Acton. This role will see you take full responsibility for managing site activities, ensuring safe delivery, and maintaining programme across a high-value T&D scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of site operatives and subcontractors
  • Preparation and implementation of Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, and Site Quality Plans
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
  • Produce and manage Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
  • Carry out regular site inspections ensuring HSEQ compliance
  • Maintain accurate site records, including site diary and labour tracking
  • Coordinate with client representatives and attend weekly progress meetings
  • Manage programme delivery and resolve site issues efficiently
  • Ensure quality control standards are upheld throughout

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Civils PC Site Manager on National Grid projects
  • NSI 6 & 8 (Full)
  • HSG47 (Substation)
  • Lifting Supervisor
  • Manual Handling

Desirable

  • SSE Authorisation (minimum CAT 1C)

Additional Info

  • Inside IR35 determination (PAYE/Umbrella only)
  • Immediate requirement due to increased project demand
  • Long-term work on a key National Grid substation scheme
