Position Overview

Full‑time SEND Sports Tutor – Rotherham, starting September 2026, contract until end of the academic year. Key Stages KS1‑KS3.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, resilient, and dedicated professional to support children with additional needs through engaging physical education and positive relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging sports and physical activities tailored to pupils' individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils through patience, consistency, and encouragement.
  • Support pupils with SEMH, Autism, and other additional needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through sport and physical activity.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure every pupil can achieve their potential.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable learning environment where every child can succeed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly SEMH and Autism.
  • Passion for sport, physical activity, and helping young people develop.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills with pupils and colleagues.
  • Resilient, patient, and committed to making a lasting impact.
  • Relevant coaching, sports, or education qualifications (desirable but not essential).
  • Additional Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Original qualifications must be provided before placement.
  • Teaching roles require Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
